On the morning of July 23, the 2025 "Emotional Bonds with China: Roots-Seeking Journey" Summer Camp in Pingxiang, Jiangxi, officially commenced under the auspices of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. Twenty-five overseas Chinese youths from the UK and Spain gathered together for the event. Over the next ten days, they will:

Visit the Anyuan Miners’ and Railway Workers’ Movement Memorial Hall to revisit revolutionary history; Summit Mount Wugong to marvel at the "Grasslands in the Clouds"; Recite Confucian classics at the Ao Zhou Academy; Experience intangible cultural heritage crafts like Nuo mask carving, finger-palm painting, and tin engraving; Participate in hands-on workshops such as paper-cutting and pottery; Engage in cultural exchange activities with local students.

Themed "Shared Roots, Shared Soul, Shared Dreams," the camp aims to deepen overseas Chinese youths’ understanding of traditional Chinese culture and immerse them in Pingxiang’s unique charm, empowering them to become "young ambassadors" for China-international cultural exchange.

Zou Xuan from Spain expressed heartfelt excitement: "Abroad, Chinese was merely symbols in textbooks. Now, standing on Pingxiang’s land—a vibrant blend of revolutionary red and ancient history—I truly grasp the weight of the term ‘roots-seeking.’" Wu Xinyue from the Barcelona Confucius Institute added, "From map labels to real-life wonders like Mount Wugong and Anyuan’s revolutionary spirit, along with authentic spicy Pingxiang cuisine—each fills me with anticipation." Both participants pledged to document their journey earnestly and share their experiences back home, hoping to "help more people see China and understand Pingxiang."
